Buddhist Studies: Australasian Contributions
There is a general awareness that in recent years there has been a rapid, almost exponential, increase in Buddhist Studies throughout the scholarly world. What is perhaps not so well known is how much work is being done in Buddhist Studies in universities in the Australasian region.

It is noteworthy that none of these academics are affiliated with a department of Buddhist Studies, but are working in a wide range of disciplines and in comparative isolation, sometimes unaware that there were others, even in their own universities, who shared an interest in the study of Buddhism.

By organizing this conference, the Executive Committee of the AABS seeks to provide a forum where scholars in Buddhist studies from the Australasian region will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with researches of their colleagues.

Conference Information
Venue: Parramatta Campus, University of Western Sydney
Date: Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th December 2007
