Buddhist pilgrimage sites in India

Buddhist site visit; Sanci, Ajanta and beyond...
Our first session will have a short presentation by Ian McCrabb on a recent visit to Buddhist archeological sites in India including Sanci and Ajanta.

This is anticipated to be a departure point for a conversation on the wider issues of Buddhist pilgrimage sites; how we encounter these sites as:

  • westerners
  • academics
  • Buddhists

Your experiences...
Contribute your own experiences to the discussion:

  • your own accounts of site visits
  • your photos (bring along on flash disk)
