Our first seminars in the 2006 series have been a great success; a panel discussion on Chinese pure land Buddhism, and a report on a recent visit to Buddhist sites in India.

We are delighted to announce the program for the remainder of the first half of this year:

  • March 31st - Ven Sujato - "White Bones and Red Rust: How the bhikkhuni order came and went"
  • April 28th - Primoz Picenko - "Pali texts and their manuscripts:  a case of 'lost' manuscripts mentioned in old Pali bibliographic sources"
  • May 26th - John Powers - "A War of Words: The Creation of Tibetan Histories by the People's Republic of China and Tibetan Exiles"
  • June 16th - AABS Conference - "Buddhist Studies: Australasian Contributions"

For seminar location and downloads of abstracts and readings please refer to the detailed information on the seminars page of AABS web site.

We are also able to announce the inaugural AABS Conference to be held at University of Sydney in June.   For further detail refer to the conference page of AABS web site, a call for papers will be forthcoming shortly.
