Registration for Law, Religion and Social Change is still
open. The conference will held from 25th - 27th of May at the
National Museum of Australia in Canberra.
This conference brings to Australia an extraordinary group of
scholars from Australia, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and
North America. The highly distinguished keynote speakers are
Professor Margaret Davies (Flinders), Professor Malcolm Evans
(Bristol), Professor Ruth Gavison (Hebrew University,
Jerusalem), Judge Michael W. McConnell (US Court of Appeals,
10th Circuit) Professor Ngaire Naffine (Adelaide), Professor
Abdullah Saeed (Melbourne) and Professor Larry Sager (Texas).
The conference will examine a wide range of issues arising
from the intersection of law and religion including:
Religious liberty and constitutionalism
Euthanasia and abortion
Religious dress
Intelligent Design in Public Schools
Incitement to Religious Hatred
Coercion and Religious Belief
