AABS is engaged in strategy formulation for this intiative.
Objectives |
The immediate objectives are as follows:
- to act as a liasion point for Honours and postgraduate students working in Buddhist Studies in the Australasian area in order to assist them to become integrated into the wider academic community engaged in research in Buddhist Studies
- to provide a common meeting point for Buddhist Studies focused postgraduates students working in separate and diverse academic disciplines
- to provide feedback for Buddhological research in addition to feedback in their respective fields
- to provide a forum in which postgraduates working in Buddhist Studies can have a first point of contact with experts in their respective field
- to provide information to postgraduate students in their search for information, education materials, graduate programs, etc
- to organize workshops and seminars that will provide a forum for students to present their projects and trial-run their conference papers
The longer term objectives are as follows:
- to provide a web-based discussion page for postgraduates
- to organize seminar series and conferences specifically for postgraduates
- to establish a prize for outstanding postgraduate and honours work

The process to be followed is to:
- circulate a draft strategy for review
- determine strategic priorities
- develop an implementation plan
